Step 1 of 4

SFC Phone Free Schools

A phone-free school requires that learners' personal electronic devices (cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, AirPods, fitness trackers and Bluetooth connected headphones, etc.) are securely locked away and inaccessible for at least the academic day, if not the entire school day.

Signing your school up to be formally recognised as an SFC SA Phone-Free School has these important benefits:

  • Helps your parents and teachers understand the advantages and benefits of keeping schools smartphone-free.
  • Recognises the great work your school is doing in giving children a break from their phones.
  • Encourages other schools to take your lead and follow suit.
  • 4 Principles

The SFC SA Phone-Free School status can be obtained by schools adhering to all four of these principles.
